Its missions are :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct high-level research on <a href=\"http:\/\/www-llb.cea.fr\/Phocea\/Vie_des_labos\/Ast\/index.php?aff=groupe\">its own programs<\/a>, using its facilities at Saclay, Grenoble or other sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support training in neutron scattering and prepare a new generation of users for the latest neutron scattering methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote the use of neutron scattering and spectroscopy for fundamental research and industry, and set up collaborations and\/or partnerships with industrial and commercial companies as part of access to LLB neutron beams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After shutdown of the Orph\u00e9e reactor, dismantle, recycle and optimize the reuse of all or part of the instruments on other neutron sources in France and abroad, in the best interests of the French scientific community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop a forward-looking long-term strategy to ensure French excellence in neutron scattering, and in this context to propose<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/iramis.cea.fr\/llb\/2024\/03\/icone-une-nouvelle-source-de-diffusion-neutronique-francaise\/\">a detailed preliminary design for the ICONE compact neutron source<\/a><\/strong>.
